Sedimentary Facies of the Cimanuk River Delta on the North Java Coastal Area and Its Geotechnical Properties

Abstract Understanding the sedimentary facies and their engineering properties in Cimanuk river delta is very important to support regional infrastructure development environmental assessment of north Java coastal area. This research aimed characterize association its geotechnical delta, Indramayu, West Java. Methods included boring Cone Penetration Tests with pore water measurement (CPTu). The results show that subsurface condition comprises several boundaries, namely plain, front, prodelta. plain consists fluvial channel sands marsh-lagoon; front beach ridge, prodelta clay silt thickening towards northeast. sand silt, dense hard SPT N value 30 cone resistance, qc 2,000-10,000 kPa. ridge sandy loose dense, 500-16,000 kPa 30. has a variable consistency from soft 1-37, 300- 4,900 consist medium consistency, 200- 3,000 1-8. clay-silts are consistency. When occurs marsh-lagoon facies, particular caution must be taken. vertical, lateral, spatial can provide information for planning region.
